Simchat Torah of Resilience
Simchat Torah marks the end of the annual Torah scroll reading and the beginning of the new cycle for the coming year. It is celebrated with musicians, singing, dancing, and merry processions of people carrying Torahs and children waving flags. Even little children can join in; we have plush Torah toys for them.
This year we are observing the “Simchat Torah of Resilience,” honoring the korbanot hatevach—sacrifices of the [October 7th] massacre—during the brief service that precedes the dancing and celebration, but the music and dancing will be as celebratory as always.
