Shiva of Lance Bolonik

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lance Martin Bolonik, 82 years. Beloved husband of Janet (neé Bromberg). Brother of Cheryl Hoffman. Loving father of Kera (Meredith) and Shana (Michael), and devoted grandfather of Jack, Finn, and Theo. Lance is preceded in death by his parents, Sedge & Dr. Sam Bolonik.

A native of River Forest and long-time congregant of Temple Har Zion, Lance was one of the first b’nai-mitzvah students of Cantor Harold Brindell, z”l. A naval aviator from 1964-70, Lance achieved the rank of lieutenant. After being honorably discharged, Lance volunteered at Hines VA Hospital helping with paraplegic and quadriplegic patients. Toward the end of his life, Lance worked as a substitute teacher at the same River Forest middle school he attended as a child.

There will not be a funeral. A Memorial Service is being planned, and details will be announced when available.

Shiva will be held at Temple Har Zion on Sunday, July 7, 3pm – 8pm (CST); in person only.
